A former judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada, Potter served on the bench from 2006 to 2021, presiding primarily over Family Court cases.
He earned his B.S. in Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1993, and later received his J.D. from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1996. Prior to his judicial tenure, Potter built a successful career in private legal practice, which he has now resumed with a focus on criminal defense. His background as both an attorney and a judge gives him a unique perspective in navigating complex legal challenges.
